Oro di Diamanti – Our Organic Family Farm in the Bolognese Hills
Oro di Diamanti is a family-run organic agricultural company located in the Bolognese Hills, an area historically renowned for high-quality farming and ideal for the production of organic products.
Here, surrounded by greenery and immersed in the quiet of nature, we passionately cultivate and process organic wines, honey, extra virgin olive oil and liqueurs, fully respecting natural rhythms and local agricultural traditions.
About us
The name Oro di Diamanti comes from the union of two deeply meaningful elements: the surname of the founder, Susanna Diamanti, and the colour “gold”, which symbolically represents our signature products – Pignoletto wine, honey and olive oil – authentic expressions of the Bolognese Hills.
Our organic products – a story rooted in the land
2003 – 2006
The story of Oro di Diamanti began in 2003, when Susanna purchased a plot of land with the simple and genuine idea of growing a vegetable garden for her family. However, the land turned out to be much larger than expected: 3.5 hectares of abandoned land, within which an old vineyard of Pignoletto and Barbera was discovered.
This discovery led to an important decision: restoring the vineyard, reclaiming the land and giving new life to a place rich in potential. Thus began an agricultural project that has grown year after year, guided by a deep love for the land and the desire to produce authentic, high-quality organic products from the Bolognese Hills.
From bees to wine – the growth of the agricultural company
2006 – 2009
In 2006, the first bee colonies arrived, and the production of organic honey became the company’s first true source of income.
In 2007, the project gained further momentum: the existing vineyard was restored, while the remaining land was used to plant around 500 olive trees, marking the beginning of organic extra virgin olive oil production.
In 2009, the first vinification took place, initially entrusted to an external winery. However, the results did not meet the desired quality standards: over time, the wine lost its aromas, fragrances and ageing potential. This led to the decision to follow a path more consistent with the company’s vision: the Traditional Method (Champagne Method).
The birth of the winery and the Traditional Method
2012 – 2013
In 2012, no longer satisfied with outsourcing production, Oro di Diamanti carried out its first in-house vinification, using a company-owned warehouse in Sasso Marconi, with the support of an oenologist. This marked a fundamental step towards greater technical expertise and production awareness.
In 2013, the first Gaudium Pignoletto Spumante was created and immediately received excellent feedback. Its success led to the expansion of vineyard areas and the strengthening of the company’s identity, increasingly focused on the production of organic wines made using the Traditional Method and bottle refermentation.
A winery in the Bolognese Hills for artisanal organic sparkling wine production
2014 – 2016
The year 2014 marked another key milestone: permission was granted by the Municipality of Zola Predosa for the construction of the winery on company-owned land. The works were completed in 2016, the year of its official inauguration.
From that moment on, Oro di Diamanti has been able to manage the entire production process internally, experimenting with new styles and specialising in the artisanal production of high-quality organic sparkling wines, deeply connected to the territory of the Bolognese Hills.
A new generation with an international outlook
2017 – oggi
In 2017, Riccardo Diamanti, Susanna’s youngest son, joined the company. Young, determined and deeply connected to the family’s history, Riccardo became the majority shareholder and legal representative of the company in 2023, at just 24 years of age.
Under his leadership, Oro di Diamanti strengthened its corporate structure and embarked on a path of international expansion, bringing organic wines from the Bolognese Hills to international markets such as South Korea, Canada, the United States and Japan.
